Understanding rate limits

Per-minute limit
Burst protection that resets every 60 seconds. Prevents accidental API flooding.
Per-day limit
Rolling 24-hour window. Resets continuously based on your usage pattern.
Unique recipes per month
Tracks distinct recipes accessed per billing period. Re-requesting the same recipe doesn't count against this limit — only new recipes do. Encourages caching.
Generate credits
Generate requests are tracked separately with daily and monthly limits.

What happens if I exceed my limit?

You'll receive a 429 Too Many Requests response with a Retry-After header indicating when to try again.

Free tier: hard limit, wait for reset. Paid tiers: contact us for temporary increases if needed.
